Eden Dock recognised with Civic Trust Award
Eden Dock has been named one of 21 winners in the 2026 Civic Trust Awards.
Established in 1959, the Civic Trust Awards recognise excellence in architecture, landscape, urban design and public realm. As the world’s longest continuously running built environment awards programme, they celebrate projects that deliver lasting cultural, social, economic and environmental value.
At Canary Wharf, Eden Dock reimagines the historic Middle Dock as a new kind of public space, bringing people to the water’s edge for the first time. A network of floating pontoons and gardens creates places to walk, dwell and engage with the dock, while new habitats support biodiversity and improve water quality.
The project forms part of a wider transformation of Canary Wharf into a more diverse, civic and environmentally responsive district—one that balances density with access to nature and prioritises public life.
The Civic Trust Award judges commented: “As both a destination and a testbed for innovation, Eden Dock points towards new possibilities for urban water spaces, where ecology, access and experience are brought together in service of a more resilient and engaging city.”
Eden Dock demonstrates how working with water, landscape and ecology can reshape everyday experience and support more resilient urban environments.
