Ross Brearley

Throughout his career, Ross has been involved in a wide variety of architectural projects in various sectors and scales and has extensive experience in all stages of project delivery. He maintains a keen interest in the exploration of materiality and the way buildings are constructed. He has a hands-on approach to design exploration and enjoys ‘making’, which outside of work has led to several hobbyist building projects including two self-built house extensions.

Ross has extensive involvement in leading several of our residential schemes. He has led the architecture team on a collaborative scheme to regenerate Perry Barr and provide over 1,400 sustainable new houses and apartments, as part of a new high-quality development on the site of the old Birmingham City University north campus. Other schemes include the Kidbrooke Station Square residential scheme for Notting Hill Genesis, providing 413 new apartments. More recently, Ross is developing the early stage design for Plot 12 at Convoy’s Wharf, London.

Ross has recently been working with the Birmingham Botanical Gardens Trust, a registered charity that looks after the gardens, and has developed a comprehensive and ambitious architectural vision for this as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund application. This scheme seeks to enhance the botanical gardens into a major nationally renowned visitor attraction and events venue.

Ross undertook an MEng in Architectural and Structural Engineering and a MArch at the University of Sheffield.
