Plot 7, Perry Barr Village
Perry Barr Village is a transformational project for Birmingham that will have a long and lasting positive impact on the city and its people. Working alongside Birmingham City Council and project partners Arcadis and Lendlease, it will provide new homes and create a pathway for future phases of Perry Barr 2040: A Vision for Legacy masterplan.
The site, a suburban area in the north of Birmingham, was, until ten years ago, home to the campus for Birmingham City University and in need of renewal. The first residential phase provides a range of generous homes, catering to a mix of buyers and tenants, alongside a new park with a community hub, tree-lined streets, local amenities, green transport infrastructure and an active travel link.
Our involvement has centred around Plot 7—the gateway plot for the new neighbourhood. The family of five brick buildings, including the tallest at 16 storeys, is arranged to enclose a communal podium garden for residents and establish a new south-facing public forecourt with retail and amenities, linking to the redeveloped Perry Barr rail station.
